Greg Eghigian is Professor of History and Bioethics at Penn State University, specializing in the history of science and medicine. He has written extensively about the ways in which scientific and medical institutions have understood and treated those deemed mad, abnormal, or delinquent. His most recent book is The Routledge History of Madness and Mental Health. He serves on the editorial boards of the periodicals Psychiatric Times and the Journal of the History of the Behavioral Sciences and he is co-founding Editor-in-Chief of the scholarly blog h-madness. More recently, he has turned his attention to the history of the UFO and alien contact phenomenon, research for which he has received funding from NASA, the American Historical Association, the American Philosophical Society, and the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum. Prof. de la Torre is Director of the Neuropsychology and Experimental Psychology Lab, Associate professor of Psychology and Vice-Dean of Academic Affairs at University of Cadiz, Spain where he has worked full time since 2010. He graduated from the University of Seville, Spain (1998), where he also finished his Master's degree in Neuropsychology (2000) and PhD on Experimental Psychology and Neuropsychology (2010). Currently, Prof. de la Torre is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA); European Low Gravity Research Association (ELGRA) and expert reviewer for the Skolkovo Foundation in Russia (Space Sciences). He is a permanent member of the International Academy of Astronautics (Life Sciences). He has been involved in different space related projects as a PI and in research teams with national (Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation) and also collaborated in other international projects (ESA and NASA). He is author of more than 30 peer reviewed scientific publications, several transfer activities with industry partners and media appearances focused in space sciences. Prof. de la Torre’s main areas of research are psychosocial and neuropsychological aspects of space analogs and human spaceflight; neuropsychological assessment in neurological diseases; and human factors. He also does research on SETI, specifically the role of cognitive bias and consciousness.

Jeffrey J. Kripal is the Associate Dean of the Faculty and Graduate Programs in the School of the Humanities and the J. Newton Rayzor Chair in Philosophy and Religious Thought at Rice University. He also helps direct the Center for Theory and Research at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California and sits on numerous advisory boards in the U.S. and Europe involving the nature of consciousness and the human, social, and natural sciences.

Jeff is the author of ten single-authored books, including, most recently, The Superhumanities: Historical Precedents, Moral Objections, New Realities (Chicago, 2022), where he intuits an emerging order of knowledge that can engage in robust moral criticism but also affirm the superhuman or nonhuman dimensions of our histories and futures.

Professor Tim Murithi is the South African Representative to the International Coalition for Extraterrestrial Research (ICER), and is an academic researcher with three decades of research experience in the field of peacebuilding in Africa.

He is currently a Professor of African Studies with the University of the Free State, University of Cape Town, and Stellenbosch University, in South Africa. He is an author and editor of 12 academic books on peace and transitional justice in Africa. He has also authored a number of newspaper articles in South Africa on the UFO/UAP phenomenon, including in the Mail and Guardian and Daily Maverick available online.

Bryan is a scholar and poet based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I hold a B.A. (Hons.) in Philosophy from the University of Regina, Canada, and an M.A. (English literature) from Concordia University, Canada. Since 1995 I have taught at Dawson college Cegep in Montreal, where I have been a full time member of the English department since 1999.

With Susan Palmer, I have published a well-received study of “Flying Saucer Religions”, the most recent version of which is included in The Cambridge Companion to New Religious Movements (eds. Hammer and Rothstein, 2012).

Michael E. Zimmerman is emeritus professor of philosophy at Tulane University and at the University of Colorado Boulder. His areas of research include 19^th and 20^th century German philosophy (Hegel, Nietzsche, and Heidegger), environmental philosophy, philosophy of technology, philosophy of religion, Buddhism, and integral philosophy.

In addition to four books and three edited collections, Zimmerman has published more than one hundred peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Winner of several teaching awards, Zimmerman loved introducing students to the many different ways in which philosophers have conceived of reality, knowledge, and moral value. An excellent and most enjoyable way to do  was through his course on philosophy and science fiction, which always began by having students view the first Matrix film.

Hakan Kayal is a professor for space technologies since 2008 at the Julius-Maximilians-University of Würzburg (JMUW), Germany. His main research interests are in the fields of design, construction and operation of space systems, especially highly autonomous nano satellites for scientific applications, search for extraterrestrial intelligences (SETI) and research on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP). After his study of aeronautics and astronautics at the Technical University of Berlin (TUB), prof. Kayal worked at the satellite control center of the geostationary communications satellite TÜRKSAT 1B in Ankara/Turkey as a satellite controller. He moved back to Berlin and worked at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Berlin-Adlershof, finally as the deputy project leader of DLR’s first small Satellite BIRD. He changed to TUB where he was the leader of BEESAT, a pico satellite, which was launched in 2009 and was successfully operated for several years.

Philippe Ailleris is a Senior Project Controller at the Space Research and Technology Centre of the European Space Agency (ESA), in the Netherlands. He is currently working in the Earth Observation Projects Department, for the Sentinel-1 and CO2M satellite missions of the EU Copernicus Programme. Being a French citizen, he has been interested by the UAP topic since the creation in 1977 of the French UAP research and information group (CNES/GEIPAN). His research focuses on the scientific examination of UAP observations and in particular on the creation of a systematic and rigorous science of the UAP phenomena.

In 2009, he founded the UAP Observations Reporting Scheme Project, which he initiated autonomously under the framework of the 2009 International Year of Astronomy.

Since 2015, he has been actively involved in the project UFODATA, related to the definition and development of a large international network of automated surveillance stations with sophisticated sensors that will monitor the skies 24/7 for detecting and measuring the physical characteristics of UAPS.

His latest research project focuses on the potential use of Earth Observation civilian satellites as a way to mine for anomalous aerial events.

Dr. Beatriz Villarroel (www.beatrizvillarroel.com) is a postdoctoral researcher at the Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics (Nordita) in Stockholm. She obtained her astronomy PhD in 2017 from Uppsala University in Sweden.

In 2017 she went on a postdoc to ETH Zurich in Switzerland, and between 2018 - 2022 she had an international postdoc shared between Nordita and the Institituto de Astrofisica de Canarias in Spain, funded by the Swedish Research Council. B.V. leads the Vanishing & Appearing Sources during a Century of Observations (VASCO) project (www.vascoproject.org), an international SETI/transient astronomy project searching for anomalies in the sky during a 70 years time span.

In 2021, Beatriz Villarroel won the L’Oreal-UNESCO For Women in Science prize in Sweden for her work with the VASCO project. Joaquim Fernandes is a retired professor at the University Fernando Pessoa, Porto, co-founder of the Center of Consciousness Studies Transdisciplinary (CTEC) at this institution and co-editor of the journal Cons-Sciences, published by that Center at the UFP. Graduated in History, he has a M.A. degree in History and Modern History, with a work on “Religiosity and Spirituality in Portugal in the XVII Century”. He received his B.A., M.S., and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 2005, 2006, and 2011 respectively, then continued his work in physics as a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California Davis (2010-14).

Since 2014, he has been a member of the physics faculty at the University at Albany SUNY, pursuing experimental particle astrophysics, in particular direct laboratory detection of dark matter particles, underground. He works on the liquid-Xenon-based LZ experiment and with supercooled water (the “snowball chamber”), and is the developer of the NEST (Noble Element Simulation Technique) computer software.

Wes Watters is a planetary scientist who uses spacecraft observations to study the evolution of planetary surfaces, with a focus on the effects of high-speed impacts. He is also chair of the Department of Astronomy at the Whitin Observatory of Wellesley College in Wellesley, MA, USA, where he also teaches as an associate professor.  He serves as lead of Science Planning and Implementation for the Galileo Project's UAP investigation, and directs an effort at Wellesley College to develop relatively inexpensive and portable instrumentation for the study of UAP.

Jacob Haqq Misra is a senior research investigator at the Blue Marble Space Institute of Science. Dr. Silvano Colombano received an M.A. in Physics and a Ph.D. in Biophysical Sciences from the University at Buffalo. He has spent most of his working career at NASA-Ames Research Center first as a researcher in Closed Ecological Life Support Systems (CELSS) and later in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.

He began the development work on the first AI advisory system deployed in space: the Astronaut Science Advisor (a.k.a. PI-in-a-box),  and managed the project until its deployment on SLS-2 (Space Shuttle STS -58) in 1993.

He continued  doing research and development work in Artificial Neural Networks, Genetic Algorithms and Fuzzy Logic in the Intelligent Systems Division at NASA-Ames. He is author or co-author of over 80 technical publications.

He led a group in “Evolutionary Biotronics”, comprising projects in Evolutionary Hardware, Modular Cooperative Robotics and Artificial Life, and organized a workshop on Self-Sustaining Robotic Ecologies called “Robosphere “ in 2002, 2004 and 2006.

He worked in Systems Engineering for the Orion space capsule flight S/W and a Fault Management System for the Deep Space Habitat.

The last project he led at NASA (2019-20) was the development of Autonomous Medical Operations (AMO), a machine learning system for providing autonomy in medical care for astronauts during deep space missions.

Daniel Coumbe received a PhD in theoretical particle physics from the University of Glasgow in the UK. He has since held research positions in the USA, Poland, and Denmark. Robert has a BS in Chemistry and is a former collegiate debater. He has 28 years experience in engineering management in the semiconductor industry. While working at Advanced Micro Devices he has taken numerous internal courses related to device physics, design of experiments, and statistical analysis. He helped Advanced Micro Devices develop its first flash memory technology that is used in today’s flash cards for cameras, PCs, video cameras, and other products. His experience includes managing a state-of-the-art chemistry laboratory and managing a Research and Development group that worked on nanotechnology using atomic force microscopes, near-field optical microscopy, and other techniques. Robert Powell is a founding Board member of the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies (SCU). He was the Director of Research at MUFON from 2007-2017 and created MUFON's Science Review Board in 2012. Robert is one of two authors of the detailed radar/witness report on the “Stephenville Lights” as well as the SCU report "UAP: 2013 Aguadilla, Puerto Rico". Karl Svozil is a Viennese physicist who works at TU Wien. After completing his studies in Vienna and Heidelberg, he attended the University of California at Berkeley and the Department of Energy's Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory.

Throughout his career, Karl has gained a wealth of professional experience, including working at the Austrian Ministry for Science & Research and visiting academic institutions and research centers in countries such as the USA, Canada, New Zealand, Germany, Russia, Italy, Denmark, Malaysia, Russia, Ukraine and India. Massimo Teodorani (PhD., Bologna University) is an astrophysicist from North Italy. His Ph.D. in Astronomy from Bologna University is with a specialization in stellar physics. He has been carrying out research on eruptive phenomena in astrophysics, such as supernovas, novas, high-mass close binary stars with neutron star component, black hole candidate binary star systems, strongly eruptive protostars (FU Orionis type), and cataclysmic and pre-cataclysmic stars. He is an expert in photometric and spectroscopic observational techniques. He has been working as a researcher at the INAF Naples Astronomical Observatory and at the INAF Radioastronomic Observatory in Medicina (Bologna). Being experienced both in optical and radio astronomy, in a subsequent phase Dr. Teodorani carried out research on extrasolar planets (search for 22 GHz water MASER line in 57 stellar candidates) and the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI).

Dr. Teodorani takes an observational/experimental and interpretative/theoretical approach to his research. He is also an expert in the physics of anomalous plasma phenomena of geophysical interest such as the Hessdalen phenomenon in Norway and similar recurrent phenomena in the world, on which he carried out and published a lot of observational and theoretical research using astronomy-like strategies and observational techniques.

Prof. Knuth is a Professor of Physics at the University at Albany (SUNY), and is the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Entropy (MDPI). He is a former NASA research scientist having worked for four years at NASA Ames Research Center in the Intelligent Systems Division designing artificial intelligence algorithms for astrophysical data analysis. He has over 20 years of experience in applying Bayesian and maximum entropy methods to the design of machine learning algorithms for data analysis applied to the physical sciences.

Leslie Kean is an independent investigative journalist who has been reporting on UFOs in the mainstream for over two decades. She is the author of the 2010 New York Times bestseller UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go On the Record (Crown Publishing Group/Random House) which has been translated into eleven additional languages. Her book was the basis for a History Channel documentary in 2011.

In December 2017, Kean co-authored a groundbreaking story for the front page of The New York Times about a secret Pentagon UFO program, which included two Navy videos. Ralph Blumenthal, a Distinguished Lecturer at Baruch College of the City University of New York, and summer journalism instructor at Phillips Exeter Academy, was an award-winning reporter for The New York Times from 1964 to 2009, and has written seven books on organized crime and cultural history. He led the Times metro team that won the Pulitzer Prize for breaking news coverage of the 1993 truck-bombing of the World Trade Center. In 2001, Blumenthal was named a Fellow of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation to research the progressive career and penal reforms of Warden Lewis E. Lawes, “the man who made Sing Sing sing.” The book on Warden Lawes, Miracle at Sing Sing, was published by St. Martin’s in June, 2004.

During the coronavirus pandemic he has contributed articles to The Times and other publications, worked from home on his Baruch Archives blog, “An Adventure in Democracy”, and given talks on his new book, “The Believer: Alien Encounters, Hard Science, and the Passion of John Mack.” He and his wife, Deborah, have co-authored a children's picture book," "UFOhs!: Miracles in the Sky" coming out April 15, 2023.

For more than 45 years, Blumenthal led an extensive and illustrious career at The Times as Texas correspondent and Southwest Bureau Chief (2003-8); arts and culture news reporter (1994-2003); investigative and crime reporter (1971-1994); foreign correspondent (West Germany, South Vietnam, Cambodia, 1968-1971); and metro and Westchester correspondent (1964-1968). He began his journalism career as reporter/columnist for The Grand Prairie Daily News Texan in 1963.

Blumenthal earned a Guggenheim Fellowship (2001), a Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism Alumni Award (2001), and the Nieman Foundation’s Worth Bingham Prize for distinguished investigative reporting on USAir crashes. (1994.) He was named a Townsend Harris medalist of the City College Alumni Association in 2012 and inducted into the C.C.N.Y. Communications Alumni Hall of Fame in May 2010. Since 2010 he has taught journalism in the high school international summer program of Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, N.H., and in 2010 was named a Distinguished Lecturer at Baruch College where he taught journalism and currently oversees historic collections in the Newman Library Archives.

Ross Coulthart is an Australian author, investigative journalist & filmmaker. He is the author of six bestselling books, covering true crime, history & UFOs/UAPs. Ross has worked as an investigative journalist for over three decades in TV and newspapers, including on Australia’s Sydney Morning Herald, ABC TV Four Corners, and The Sunday Program and 60 Minutes on Channel Nine. He has won five of Australia’s top journalism award, the Walkley Awards, for his investigations, including the top Australian award for journalism, the Gold Walkley. He also won a Logie (Australia’s equivalent of the Emmy Awards) for his investigative journalism.

He has written three war histories, including the international bestseller, The Lost Diggers, the story of his discovery of a hitherto hidden collection of photographs of allied soldiers behind the Somme Valley WW1 frontlines. His biography of Australia’s Official First World War historian Charles Bean won the 2015 Prime Minister’s Literary Award for Australian History. Andreas Müller, b. 1976, is independent journalist, editor of the German news-website of frontiers in sciences and animalistic research www.grenzwissenschaft-aktuell.de (GreWi) and author of several books. The latest: „Deutschlands UFO-Akten“(Germany‘s UFO-files) was published in late 2021 and compiles all available Herman UFO-files on 450 pages. He was the first journalist to discover and report about the UFO-files of the German intelligences service BND. He is also an associate member of Prof. Hakan Kayals IFEX Institute.

George Knapp earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from West Georgia College and a master’s degree in communications from the University of the Pacific, where he also taught speech and debate and served as director of forensics. George also taught speech at California Polytechnic University, coached the debate team at the University of California at Berkeley and taught broadcast journalism at UNLV.

He moved to Las Vegas in 1979 and landed a job as a taxi driver. Later, he worked at KLVX-TV Channel 10 as a part-time studio cameraman and production assistant. KLAS-TV hired him in 1981 as a general assignment reporter. George also has co-anchored various newscasts for KLAS-TV.

Since 1995, George has been the chief reporter on Channel 8’s I-Team investigative unit. In that capacity, he has earned five regional Edward R. Murrow awards and two national Edward R. Murrow awards for his investigative stories, and is a nine-time winner of the Associated Press Mark Twain Award for best Newswriting.  His investigative reports have been awarded the highest honors in broadcast journalism,  including the DuPont Award from Columbia University and the Peabody Award (twice). He has also won 24 regional Emmys. In 1990 his series about UFOs was  selected by United Press International as best in the nation for Individual Achievement by a Journalist.
